Chemo & CT Scan Results

This time the very nodule that grew from 10mm to 17mm shrank back down to 13mm. All in all the medical profession considers it stable. I guess a nonsignificant occurrence.

I had moved some furniture and now have a pinched nerve. The doctor at the ER called it "radiculopathy". While at chemo I was given an infusion of Ketorolac Tromethamine.
I also got a prescription for a steroid pack and gabapentin. That, along with the usual steroid injection, alleviated some of the pain for a couple of days. Now I'm just still trying to recover from it all. They said it would take several weeks. Seems like it's one thing after another. Used to I could throw furniture around all day - or trees or shrubs or anything else.
I stopped off for some hot and sour soup on the way home.

Visit to ER

I lifted a table the night before Thanksgiving and pinched a nerve. I ended up in the ER. For the whole of Thanksgiving weekend I sat in excruciating pain with no medication or prescription. I could barely move for 4 days.

Eye Doctor

I made a $700 trip to the eye doctor today. I found out I have Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. So now I have to use Soothe XP drops 3 times a day. There is also a gel mask I heat up before bedtime and massage my eyes with, which feels really good. I can tell it helps release the stopped up glands. The optometrist also told me to get a humidifier for my bedroom.

On top of it all, I needed new glasses. haha.

The Rat

A 10 inch rat (not including the tail) has been terrorizing me in the house for 5 days. I finally convinced him to move out permanently.

CT Scan Results and Chemo

CT scan results were not so good this time. One of the nodules in my lungs grew from 10mm to 17mm. That's a 70% growth in just 3 months. So the plan is to continue as before along with considering radiation on just that one spot. We do what we have to do when we have to do it. Thanks to all my loved ones who offer consistent emotional support and friendship. Your true heart is made known through your behavior and is a comfort. Lunch at Chuy's after chemo also helped to make things better.

FIGHT ON!

Interview for News Video

This interview was done to promote the James Bess Foundation. Channel 5 from Nashville came out to do the interview.

Surprise in the Mail

I got a cool little package from news channel 5 today. It contained a towelette, pencils, a handwritten letter from Emily Luxen, and an autographed picture and handwritten card from my favorite meteorologist Lelan Statom.
